AI training that comes to your
program space

Most nonprofits we meet run on a small team doing the work of a much bigger one, and AI tends to show up the same way it does everywhere else: one staff member figures out ChatGPT on their own while everyone else wonders whether they're allowed to use it.

A workshop puts your whole team in the same tool on the same morning, working on real grant drafts, donor updates and program reports, so you leave with shared habits and clear ground rules instead of guesswork. We'll come to you anywhere in Southwestern Ontario, host you at the Atrium in St. Thomas, or run the session online when your team or cohort is spread across the province.‍

Who we work with

Compare workshops

We work with nonprofit teams of roughly 5 to 25 people, and with the organizations that train entrepreneurs in groups. Most of them fall into one of these:

  • Small business centres, Community Futures offices and business resource centres that want a practical AI session for their entrepreneur cohorts

  • Charities, community organizations and social service agencies with small teams stretched across grant applications, case notes and donor updates

  • Foundations and associations that want staff and board members using AI under the same ground rules

Recent work with nonprofits

We ran a team AI workshop for the Goals, Preparation and Skills (GPS) program at Hutton House, a London nonprofit that has spent more than 70 years helping people facing barriers to employment find meaningful work. Our nonprofit and community partners also include the Elgin/St. Thomas Small Business Enterprise Centre, the Elgin Business Resource Centre, the Elgin St. Thomas Community Foundation and Community Futures Oxford.

      What’s included

      What you get

      • A free discovery call to plan the session with you

      • A short questionnaire, so we arrive already knowing your programs and the people you serve

      • Three hours of hands-on practice on your own devices, using your own documents and tasks

      • A cheat sheet your team or cohort keeps

      • A 30-minute follow-up call within 14 days

      What you bring

      • A laptop or tablet for each person

      • Access to the AI tool your organization uses, or we'll help you choose one, including free and discounted nonprofit options

      • A couple of real tasks your team would happily hand off

When your team is ready to go further

Some nonprofit teams leave the workshop with a clear list of tasks to hand to AI, and others realize the bigger problem is how information moves between programs, staff and funders. When that happens, we can map your processes, set up AI to handle one or two recurring jobs like first drafts of funder reports or summaries of program notes, or plan a full-day or multi-session program for a larger cohort. If none of that makes sense for you, we'll say so.

What your team will be able to do

By the end of the session, your team or cohort will be able to:

      1. Use your organization's AI tool at the same level as each other

      2. Write prompts that produce usable first drafts of grant sections, donor updates and newsletters

      3. Tell what's safe to put into an AI tool and what has to stay out, especially client and donor information

      4. Turn a few repetitive weekly tasks into shortcuts they can reuse

      5. Agree on simple ground rules for how your organization uses AI

      FAQs

Do you offer a nonprofit rate?
Our pricing is the same for everyone. The workshop is a $1,497 flat rate whether you're training eight staff or a full cohort of entrepreneurs, so you know the whole cost before it goes into a budget or funding application.
Can we use grant or government funding to pay for it?
Your training may qualify for the Ontario Job Grant (formerly the Canada-Ontario Job Grant) or a funder's capacity-building budget. Eligibility rules vary, so check with the program and get approval before the session date, because most funding won't cover training that's already happened. We're glad to send a quote and session outline for your application.
Can you run a session for our entrepreneur cohort?
Yes. We've taught sessions with small business centres and Community Futures, and we plan each one with your program staff so it fits where your cohort is in the program. Participants practise on their own business tasks, like social posts, quotes and customer emails.
How do you handle client and donor privacy?
Part of every session covers what should never go into an AI tool, including personal client information, health details and donor records, and we show your team how to get useful results with that information left out. If your organization has a privacy policy, send it before the session and we'll build around it.
Are there free or discounted AI tools for nonprofits?
Some are. Google and Microsoft both run nonprofit programs with free or discounted plans for eligible organizations, and we'll help you work out whether one of them covers what your team needs before anyone pays for a new subscription.
Do you work outside Southwestern Ontario?
In person, we cover Southwestern Ontario, including London, St. Thomas and Elgin, Middlesex and Oxford counties, with travel included. Anywhere else in Ontario, we run the same hands-on session online over Zoom or Google Meet.
How big can the group be?
Staff workshops work best at up to 15 people. For larger entrepreneur cohorts, we'll plan the format together on your discovery call so everyone still gets hands-on time.
